Work Samples
Sustainability Page for Farm to Feet
This is a sample of a page of copy which I was asked to write to emphasize Farm to Feet’s mission of sustainability through their focus on environmental and social impacts. In working with Farm to Feet, I wrote for many different marketing channels, including email campaigns, blog posts, website copy, and I oversaw Farm to Feet’s social media.
Social Media Examples for Farm To Feet and Nurtured Inspirations
Here are two examples of Instagram posts written by me, side by side to show the variation across brand voice, style, and tone that I am capable of achieving.
Ghost-written Poem for the Mary Elizabeth Conover Foundation, Inc.
These are two example poems from a series of poems that I developed for the voice of a character, Thai Conover, for the Foundation. For projects like this one, I am able to use my M.F.A. in Creative Writing directly to create one of a kind, commissioned pieces for brand-building, fundraising, public, or private use.
Brand Description/Blog Posts for Nurtured Inspirations
I wrote this complete brand description for Nurtured Inspirations, which involved research in the niche of early-childhood development, creativity, and understanding the brand.

Blog Post, “The Field Walk,“ for York Farm
This is an example of a blog post for “The Field Walk,” a seasonal blog I created for York Farm to give subscribers a greater experience of a working vegetable farm. Some of these blog posts are archived on the York Farm website. Weekly content has included narrative and poetic writing, observations from the farm, article round-ups focused on issues relevant to agriculture, and the culture of food and farming, occasional interviews with other area farmers, and plant-based recipes.
Instagram Stories for Farm to Feet
This narrative uses Instagram stories as a vessel for original copy that highlights the concerns of the ideal customer for Farm to Feet, ultimately leading to the last story which is a visual introduction of a new product launched the week the story would run. The copy of these stories lines up with simultaneous Instagram and Facebook posts for that day and the images are consistent with those posted to the grid in a three-week period of time, allowing connections to be made organically between multiple media.
Flyer for York Farm
This is an original design to promote York Farm’s Community Supported Agriculture program. The logo (designed with ink on paper then digitally rendered) and the photographs are also my original work.
Instagram Post for York Farm
Since taking on the position to co-run York Farm, I have been able to use my MFA in Creative Writing and my BA in Studio Art to create content throughout all marketing channels, especially but not limited to, social media. This is an example of a recent Instagram post in which both the image and text are my original work.

A Poem from “Nowhere Beulah” (Unicorn Press, 2019), originally published in The Southeast Review
Though maybe not a traditional addition to a work sample, I am including a poem from my first poetry collection, published by Unicorn Press. As my résumé shows, much of my focus in writing work has been in the literary world, specifically with poetry publications in literary journals and magazines, and a contest-winning collection of poems. I thought to fully share my writing and creating breadth it is important to me to show a piece of work in that sphere, as well as the more traditional samples, especially because the themes I write about very much intersect with my engagement in sustainability, farming, and the experience of the outdoors.
